Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for Airport Passenger Patrol in New York. You will perform unarmed patrols, assist passengers and personnel, and uphold security procedures while delivering excellent customer service at a busy airport environment.

Responsibilities include responding to incidents, monitoring access points, and coordinating with airport operations. Applicants must meet state licensing and background requirements and be age-appropriate for the role.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation as required by law.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting observations.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout terminal areas and exterior grounds to identify unusual activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry as directed by procedures.
• Communicate professionally with airport operations personnel and stakeholders to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, tenants, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting observations in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout terminal public areas, operational spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by location procedures, and assist with maintaining orderly movement through designated areas.
• Communicate professionally with airport operations personnel, law enforcement, emergency responders, and/or other stakeholders while supporting a professional and welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
