Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer - Airport Safety Patrol for a New York airport location. You will provide customer service to passengers and staff while enforcing security procedures and handling emergency responses.

The role requires a NYS Security Guard License, a high school diploma or equivalent, and compliance with background and drug screening processes. Schedule includes Wednesday and Sunday 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, paying $21.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, tenants, and staff while carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities at an aviation location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout terminal areas, exterior walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and notify site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity to deter unauthorized access and policy violations.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, tenants, and/or staff while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at an aviation location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout terminal areas, exterior walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity in assigned areas to help deter unauthorized access, suspicious activity and policy violations.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
