Job summary

Allied Universal seeks an Access Management Security Officer in South Hill, VA to safeguard employees, visitors, and contractors at a manufacturing and industrial site. You will manage access, verify credentials, issue badges, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

This full-time role follows a Monday–Friday day shift (08:00 AM–04:00 PM) and includes opportunities for career growth and access to company tools and benefits.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation as per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in accordance with laws.
• Subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and issue or collect access badges per site procedures.
• Control access for employees, vendors, and vehicles, directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas and reporting unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents calmly and report observations to site leadership or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, adjacent areas, loading docks, parking areas, and facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points at a manufacturing and industrial location, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and issue or collect access badges in accordance with site procedures.
• Control access for employees, vendors, and vehicles, directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas while reporting unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating observations to site leadership and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, production‑adjacent areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
