Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Control Driver in Columbus, NE. You will support access control at the front desk, greet visitors, verify credentials, and respond to incidents as part of a collaborative security team.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, and CPR is preferred. You will work a full-time schedule with evening and weekend shifts and contribute to a safe, welcoming campus environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff and visitors by following site procedures and access-control practices.
• Staff the front desk, greet visitors, sign-in, and communicate campus entry requirements.
• Monitor access, verify IDs, and report unusual activity to site contacts.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow emergency and incident-reporting procedures.
• Maintain logs and required reports, and communicate with leadership.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Sun 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, manage visitor sign-in processes, and communicate applicable campus entry requirements.
• Monitor access to the location, verify identification and/or visitor credentials as required, and report unusual activity or access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency and incident-reporting procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, complete required reports, and provide clear communication to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge system experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
