Job summary

Allied Universal, North Kingstown, RI, seeks a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control to provide reliable, customer-focused security at a busy site. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

The position pays $24.50 per hour and supports a schedule with daytime hours and options to grow into fuller hours. Prior security experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain access-control records.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including the business perimeter.
• Direct visitors, deliveries, and contractors to ensure a safe, orderly environment.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in North Kingstown, RI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $24.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri07:00 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate access‑control records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access‑control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including the business perimeter, to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Support a professional and orderly environment by communicating site requirements and directing visitors, deliveries, and/or contractors as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge procedures is preferred.Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
