Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Access Control in Grand Rapids, MI. This part-time position involves protecting clients across various industries, patrolling facilities, and controlling access to the site while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will handle incidents calmly, document activities, and follow strict site procedures. Renewal of licensing and background checks are standard, with potential for shift-based opportunities through the Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing may be required; valid driver's license for driving roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing visitors, and documenting entries, exits, and unusual activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
