Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and direct individuals in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, perimeter areas, and operational locations to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Support chemical and petrochemical location procedures by communicating observed hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate site personnel.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Authorization in Port Lavaca, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and support security-related procedures. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide professional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be able to lift up to 20 pounds preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
