Job description

Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Officer performs duties as assigned to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees, and assets on property owned or controlled by the North Shore Medical Center.

Requirements:

1. Familiarity with regulations, basic enforcement statutes, and civil code.
2. Effective communication and de-escalation skills.
3. Ability to build rapport with others.
4. Ability to assist in lifting patients.
5. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
6. Ability to physically restrain out-of-control individuals.
7. Basic computer skills (training provided on the job).
8. Successful completion of restraint and de-escalation training within 30 days of hire.
9. High School diploma or GED.
10. Valid and current Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, reviewed annually.
11. CPR and First Aid certification within the first week of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Associate degree or higher in police science, law enforcement, or criminal justice.
2. Previous experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or Military service.
