Standard Weekly Hours: 40
Summary:

Responsible to the Director of Security for providing routine security patrols, responding to incidents, offenses, and emergency situations. Maintains locked areas, reports criminal offenses to the Director, interacts with Police and Fire officials, and represents the Medical Center professionally to patients, family members, visitors, employees, and the public. Aims to ensure:

1. The personal safety of all patients, visitors, staff, volunteers, and employees.
2. The protection of personal property belonging to them.
3. The protection of their physical privacy.
4. The security of all hospital-owned property.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months security experience.
• Willing and qualified to pass the IAHSS Basic Security exam within 18 months of hire.
• Successful completion of physical assessment and Occupational Health requirements.
• Pass Psychological assessment.
• Good driving record.

Certification/Licensure:

• Willing and qualified to be commissioned by the Texas Commission of Private Security within 90 days of hire.
• Valid Texas Driver's license, in good standing within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification completed within 90 days of hire.
