Summary:

The Security Officer reports to the Director of Security and is responsible for routine security patrols, responding to incidents, offenses, and emergencies, maintaining locked areas, reporting criminal offenses, interacting with Police and Fire officials, and representing the Medical Center professionally. The role aims to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and property, and involves:

1. Ensuring personal safety of all hospital stakeholders.
2. Protecting personal property of patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers.
3. Maintaining the physical privacy of patients and visitors.
4. Protecting hospital-owned property.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months security experience.
• Willing and qualified to pass the IAHSS Basic Security exam within 18 months.
• Successful completion of physical assessment and Occupational Health requirements.
• Pass Psychological assessment.
• Good driving record.

Certification/Licensure:

• Willing and qualified to be commissioned by the Texas Commission of Private Security within 90 days of hire.
• Valid Texas Driver's license, in good standing, within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification completed within 90 days of hire.
