Job summary

Securitas USA is hiring Security Officers for full-time and part-time roles serving clients across the Metro East area in Sauget, Edwardsville, Cahokia Heights, Godfrey, Granite City, and Highland, IL. Compensation ranges from $17.50 to $18.71 per hour and includes comprehensive benefits for eligible employees.

Ideal candidates bring strong customer service, reliability, and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 18 years old and be eligible for Illinois PERC Security Officer License.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service and team leadership skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or military is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle client and guest interactions with professionalism.
• Identify and report safety issues or hazards.
• Follow post orders and complete assigned rounds.

Security Officer Schedules:

Majority of shifts will be 2nd shift (2PM - 10PM) and / or 3rd shift (10PM - 6AM).

Flex Officer Schedules:

Schedules will consist of filling in for call-offs, covering requested days off, vacation requests, and extra coverage for special assignments. Majority of these shifts will be 2nd shift (2PM - 10MP) and / or 3rd shift (10PM - 6AM).

What You Can Expect:

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client's employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Basic Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for an Illinois PERC Security Officer License.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma, GED, or willing to complete a GED program.
• Average computer skills needed, above average computer skills a plus. .
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Must be able to walk on uneven terrain and walk up / down flights of stairs / ladders.
• Position is about 75% to 80% standing / walking.
• Position can be up to 75% to 80% of the time outside in various weather conditions (except lightning, hail, and tornado).
• Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record needed (All our positions will be driver certified).
• Must have reliable transportation (Public transportation is not available at most work site locations).
• Must have reliable working communication device (cell phone).
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
• Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus. .
