Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. is hiring a Security Officer Flex/Relief for full-time shifts across the Metro East region of Illinois, from Godfrey to Highland and Sauget.

The role involves patrolling, customer service, monitoring accesses, and responding to incidents while upholding our Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness values. Positions require a minimum of two years security experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent customer service and team leadership skills.
• Ability to respond to emergencies with rapid and effective judgment.
• Excellent communication and basic computer skills.
• Must be able to work independently and stay vigilant during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues or hazardous conditions.
• Ensure post orders are followed and rounds completed.
• Provide customer service and information to clients’ employees and guests.
• Operate technology devices during shifts.
• Conduct property tours.
• Fill in for call-offs and provide extra coverage as needed.

Wage Range:

$17.50-$18.50/HR

What You Can Expect

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Flex Officer job duties will include filling call-offs, covering requested days off, covering vacation requests, and extra coverage for special assignments.
• Position can be up to 75% to 80% of the time outside in all weather (except lightning, hail, and tornado).
• This position can be up to 75% to 80% standing / walking.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Security Officer Schedules

Majority of these shifts will be 2nd shift (2PM - 10PM) and / or 3rd shift (10PM - 6AM) and will include weekends and most holidays. Mon - Fri & / or day shift positions are not available.

Basic Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for an Illinois PERC Security Officer License in the State of Illinois.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• Must have 2 years of experience in security or related field.
• Must be able to walk on uneven terrain and walk up / down flights of stairs and / or ladders.
• Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record needed (this is a driving position which includes driver certification).
• Must have reliable transportation (public transportation is not available at most work site locations).
• Will need to be available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the hours of 1PM - 7AM.
• Will need to be available on holidays.
• Must have reliable working communication device (cell phone).
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
• Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus.
