Purpose:

The Security Officer ensures the safety of all campus buildings, equipment, and perimeter through regular patrols and lock checks. Monitors utilities, treatment plants, and lighting systems, reporting issues and taking daily readings as required. Manages vehicle checks and visitor access, maintaining accurate logs and verifying identification. Provides emergency assistance, maintains communication protocols, and supports all compliance and administrative directives.

Responsible for the security of all buildings and equipment located on campus, ensuring that all doors and windows are locked as required. Conduct rounds of the premises and check all areas, including the outside boundaries. Ensure that all gates are locked as required. Routinely check all exterior lights and report any malfunctions to your supervisor for work orders. Take gallon reading from pump house-water, gas and check warning lights at treatment plants. Responsible for vehicle checks at security entrance gates. Clear unregistered visitors with appropriate party. Maintain daily log to ensure that only authorized individuals are on the premises. Check all team members upon arrival for proper identification. Provide residents with standby assistance during emergencies. Use all communication equipment and codes properly, maintain constant contact with radio system. Notify supervisor in the event of an emergency or trouble and assist the administration with emergencies as directed. Keep gatehouse clean. Represent community in a professional manner. Attend all required in-services and trainings. Ensure compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualification:

High School Diploma/GED required.

One (1) year prior Security Experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Class D Security License preferred.

Two (2) years prior Security Experience preferred.
