Job summary

Greenspring Village by Erickson Senior Living in Springfield, Virginia seeks a Security & Emergency Services Officer to patrol our 60-acre campus and greet residents at the gatehouse. After 45 days you’ll join our EMR program to support health and well-being of residents.

This full-time night-shift role (7pm–7am) offers EMR training, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities to grow with a mission-driven team dedicated to safe, welcoming communities for seniors.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current and valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Prior security experience preferred.
• Ability to interact professionally with residents, family members, staff, vendors.
• Ability to document daily activities clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior of buildings and grounds.
• Conduct safety checks to support Life Safety and OSHA compliance.
• Respond to non-emergency calls from dispatch and security.
• Assist with community emergencies, including fires, severe weather, evacuations.
• Screen visitors and vehicles, issue parking passes and maps.

As a Security & Emergency Services (SES) Officer, you’ll help keep our vibrant senior living community safe, secure, and thriving. From patrolling our beautiful 60-acre campus to welcoming guests at the gatehouse and respond and assist with non-emergency needs, you’ll be a friendly, trusted presence residents rely on. After 45 days, you’ll also take part in our Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) program, playing a key role in supporting the health and well-being of those around you.

Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, plus applicable shift differential. The night shift differential is $.50 per hour.

How you will make an impact

• Participate in routine interior and exterior patrols of the buildings and grounds
• Conduct safety checks and inspections in support of Life Safety and OSHA compliance
• Receive calls for non-emergency service from dispatch and security by radio or telephone and responds timely and appropriately
• Respond and assists in Community Emergencies, including but not limited to; fires, floods, severe weather, hazardous materials incidents, bomb threats, and evacuations
• Create the best initial impression of the community
• Screen all vehicle and pedestrian traffic entering the community
• Document all visitors and vendors/contractors and provides proper parking passes, maps, and instructs visitors to park in appropriate spaces

What you will need

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Current and valid driver’s license required (good driving record)
• Prior experience in security preferred
• Ability to demonstrate professional and responsive interactions with residents and their family members, staff, vendors, and each other
• Ability to document daily activities in a clear and concise manner
