Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Security Officer to provide a visible security presence, preventing and detecting safety risks within the hospital environment. You will guard patients, staff and assets while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor during interaction with visitors and colleagues.

The position is full-time on the 32-hour-week Night Shift and requires a valid driver's license, BLS and CPI within 60 days, plus preferred coursework in law enforcement or criminal justice.

Responsibilities

Role Description

As a Security Officer at MercyOne, you will provide a physical presence for the purpose of prevention and/or detection of adverse conditions which would place the safety and security of the hospital environment at risk while protecting welfare of patients, visitors, staff and facility assets.

Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are often difficult or stressful in nature. Contact with others involves complex, detailed and often sensitive topics. The job requires a high degree of interpersonal skills to deal with a range of complicated problem situations. Interactions involve gaining the agreement of others.

Schedule

Full time .8 (32 hours per week) Night Shift

General Requirements

Pay Range

Pay Range: $18.25 - $27.37. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
