Job summary

RTX in Richardson, TX seeks a Security Officer to safeguard classified and sensitive information and ensure the safety of facilities and personnel. You will monitor access, enforce security procedures, and maintain detailed incident and safety reports on shift. This is an onsite role with required DoD Top Secret clearance and U.S.

citizenship. Candidates must have an AA/AS degree with 6+ years in security, Texas DPS license, and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government clearance.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of security or relevant experience.
  • Must be able to meet State registration and Certification requirements for Texas Department of Public Safety and obtain a Level II - Non-Commissioned Security License.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Protect life and safeguard property against fire, carelessness, negligence, malicious destruction, sabotage, espionage, and other damage.
  • Investigate security incidents, safety hazards and accidents.
  • Extinguish fires, direct traffic, detect, report and/or detain offenders, and enforce related rules and regulations.
  • Guard assigned gates, entrances, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized entry and departure of persons, material, equipment and/or vehicles.
  • Make detailed reports of all accidents, violations, and suspicious circumstances or unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Ensure emergency response personnel, company and noncompany are notified during major incidents / accidents occurring on your shift.
  • Provide oral and written reports concerning security Infractions, safety hazards, incidents, and accidents.
  • Keep current on information that may affect security operations by reading provided reports, memos, message logs and security polices & procedures.
  • Operate security control center, electronic access gates and various applications on company related computers.

Security Officers are needed at the Raytheon Richardson facility to safeguard classified and sensitive information and secure facility/offsite locations and equipment. Continuous mental, visual and hearing attention necessary to monitor the console and prevent damage to property, sabotage, malicious mischief, crimes of violence and enforce company rules and regulations. Must be able to lift 25lbs when performing maintenance operations, extinguishers, or other safety equipment.

  • Current TS/SSBI Clearance preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR and AED certification is preferred.
  • Ability to read plans and diagrams to learn location of departments, fire equipment, signals, valves, operating a computer and other related equipment.
  • Military and/or law enforcement experience preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
