Job summary

RTX Richardson facility seeks Security Officers to safeguard classified and sensitive information and secure facility and offsite locations. This role demands sustained mental, visual and hearing attention to monitor the control center and respond to incidents.

You will protect life and property, investigate incidents, extinguish fires, guard gates, prepare detailed reports, and coordinate with emergency responders. Requirements include an AA/AS degree, U.S.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or equivalent
• Texas Level II Non-Commissioned Security License required
• U.S. citizenship required for clearance
• Prior security/defense experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform maintenance tasks

Responsibilities

• Protect life and safeguard property at the Richardson facility
• Investigate security incidents, safety hazards and accidents
• Extinguish fires, direct traffic, report and detain offenders as needed
• Guard gates and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized entry
• Prepare detailed reports of incidents, violations and suspicions
• Coordinate with emergency responders and notify relevant personnel during incidents
• Operate security control center and access gates, maintain logs and policies

Security Officers are needed at the Raytheon Richardson facility to safeguard classified and sensitive information and secure facility/offsite locations and equipment. Continuous mental, visual and hearing attention necessary to monitor the console and prevent damage to property, sabotage, malicious mischief, crimes of violence and enforce company rules and regulations. Must be able to lift 25lbs when performing maintenance operations, extinguishers, or other safety equipment.

What You Will Do

• Perform a variety of duties such as protecting life and safeguarding property against fire, carelessness, negligence, malicious destruction, sabotage, espionage, and other damage.
• Investigate security incidents, safety hazards and accidents.
• Extinguish fires, direct traffic, detect, report and/or detain offenders, and enforce related rules and regulations.
• Guard assigned gates, entrances, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized entry and departure of persons, material, equipment and/or vehicles.
• Make detailed reports of all accidents, violations, and suspicious circumstances or unsatisfactory conditions.
• Ensure emergency response personnel, company and noncompany are notified during major incidents / accidents occurring on your shift.
• Provide oral and written reports concerning security Infractions, safety hazards, incidents, and accidents.
• Keep current on information that may affect security operations by reading provided reports, memos, message logs and security polices & procedures.
• Operate security control center, electronic access gates and various applications on company related computers.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of security or relevant experience.
• Must be able to meet State registration and Certification requirements for Texas Department of Public Safety and obtain a Level II - Non-Commissioned Security License.
• Possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Qualifications We Prefer Current TS/SSBI Clearance preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification is preferred.
• Ability to read plans and diagrams to learn location of departments, fire equipment, signals, valves, operating a computer and other related equipment.
• Military and/or law enforcement experience preferred
• Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
