Job summary

Providence Covenant Health Plainview is seeking an on-site Security Officer to patrol the CHS campus, deter and investigate suspicious activity, and assist patients and staff.

The role requires licensure within 30 days and at least 1 year of security-related experience, preferably in a hospital setting. The position is on-site with a base pay range posted, and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or Police experience, preferably within a hospital or campus environment.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas of CHS campus to deter, detect and investigate crime and/or any suspicious activity.
• Writes detailed incident reports and various other reports as required.
• Takes and maintains control of disruptive individuals for arrest by Lubbock Police Department when warranted.
• Carry Department issued handcuffs and non-lethal device while on duty.

Please note that this position is onsite and therefore requires the ability to commute to Covenant Hospital Plainview in Plainview, TX.

Under general supervision, patrols assigned areas of the CHS campus to deter, detect and investigate crime and/or any suspicious activity, which could cause harm to individuals or property. Provides information and assistance to patients, employees and visitors. Writes detailed incident reports, and various other reports as required. Takes and maintains control of disruptive individuals for arrest by Lubbock Police Department, when situations warrant this action. Primary emphasis is placed on the safety of the individual and loss prevention. After completion of classroom and practical instructions, will at all times while on duty carry Department issued handcuffs and non-lethal device.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 30 days of hire: Texas Non-Commissioned Security Officer - Texas Private Security Board - Texas Department of Public Safety, Or
• Within 30 days of hire: Texas Private Security Registration - Texas Private Security Board - Texas Department of Public Safety
• Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
• 1 year of Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or Police experience, preferably within a hospital or campus environment.
