Job summary

Providence Health & Services' Covenant Hospital Plainview is seeking a security officer to patrol campus, deter and investigate crime, and assist patients, employees and visitors onsite in Plainview, TX. Under supervision, you will write detailed incident reports, take custody of disruptive individuals for arrest when appropriate, and coordinate with local law enforcement.

You will carry department issued handcuffs and non-lethal devices while on duty and contribute to a safe, respectful care

Qualifications

• 1 year of security, law enforcement, military, or police experience, preferably in a hospital or campus.
• Certification or registration required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to drive as needed and comply with state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas to deter, detect and investigate crime or suspicious activity.
• Writes detailed incident reports and other required documents.
• Takes control of disruptive individuals for arrest by law enforcement when warranted.
• Carries handcuffs and non-lethal devices on duty and ensures safety of people and property.

Description

Please note that this position is onsite and requires the ability to commute to Covenant Hospital Plainview in Plainview, TX.

Under general supervision, patrols assigned areas of the CHS campus to deter, detect and investigate crime and/or any suspicious activity, which could cause harm to individuals or property. Provides information and assistance to patients, employees and visitors. Writes detailed incident reports, and various other reports as required. Takes and maintains control of disruptive individuals for arrest by Lubbock Police Department, when situations warrant this action. Primary emphasis is placed on the safety of the individual and loss prevention. After completion of classroom and practical instructions, will at all times while on duty carry Department issued handcuffs and non-lethal device.

Required Qualifications

• Within 30 days of hire: Texas Non-Commissioned Security Officer - Texas Private Security Board - Texas Department of Public Safety, Or
• Within 30 days of hire: Texas Private Security Registration - Texas Private Security Board - Texas Department of Public Safety
• Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
• 1 year of Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or Police experience, preferably within a hospital or campus environment.

Pay Range: $17.12 - $26.18
