Job summary

Covenant Health in Plainview is seeking an onsite Security Officer to patrol Covenant Hospital Plainview, deter and investigate suspicious activity, and assist patients, staff, and visitors. You will write detailed reports and may detain disruptive individuals for police action when necessary.

The role requires security experience, valid Texas security licenses or registrations within 30 days, and flexibility for driving as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or Police experience, preferably within a hospital or campus environment.
• Texas Non-Commissioned Security Officer license within 30 days of hire OR Texas Private Security Registration within 30 days of hire.
• Driving may be necessary; provide proof of driver license and auto insurance on request.

Please note that this position is onsite and therefore requires the ability to commute to Covenant Hospital Plainview in Plainview, TX.

Under general supervision, patrols assigned areas of the CHS campus to deter, detect and investigate crime and/or any suspicious activity, which could cause harm to individuals or property. Provides information and assistance to patients, employees and visitors. Writes detailed incident reports, and various other reports as required. Takes and maintains control of disruptive individuals for arrest by Lubbock Police Department, when situations warrant this action. Primary emphasis is placed on the safety of the individual and loss prevention. After completion of classroom and practical instructions, will at all times while on duty carry Department issued handcuffs and non-lethal device.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 30 days of hire: Texas Non-Commissioned Security Officer - Texas Private Security Board - Texas Department of Public Safety, Or
• Within 30 days of hire: Texas Private Security Registration - Texas Private Security Board - Texas Department of Public Safety
• Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
