Job Summary

Performs a wide range of radiology exams and procedures. This position meets the scope of practice as defined by the ASRT practice standard guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic exams of various parts of the body, including setting up equipment and positioning the patient to provide the best demonstration of the body part under study.
  • Enters instructions into computers, monitors and evaluates images for accuracy and completeness of the order.
  • Adjusts images as necessary.
  • Evaluates radiographs for image quality and completeness.
  • Responds to the patient’s physical and psychological needs, explains procedures clearly, uses proper hand hygiene, observes the patient’s condition and reports changes to a nurse or physician.
Required Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical training in Medical Radiography required; associate’s degree in Medical Radiography preferred.
  • License MARadTech‑Radiography required; registration with the American Registry of Rad Tech required; Certificate I Basic Life Support required.
  • 0–1 year related work experience required.
  • New hires required to have MA Rad Tech license by start date.
  • New hires will have 30 days to provide BLS certification with the AHA.
  • New graduates may have a temporary MA Rad Tech license and may be ARRT eligible for 1 year from graduation.
  • Advanced technical computer skills required for technical support specific to the functional area and related systems.

Age Based Competencies

Employees must be competent to provide patient care to neonatal (birth to 6 months), young adult (16–30 years), middle‑age (30–60 years), and elderly (60+).

Physical Nature Of The Job

Heavy work: Exerts up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently. Requires extended periods of standing and/or moving.

Pay Range and Benefits

$37.00 – $54.98 per hour. This is the base hourly wage; actual compensation may exceed due to shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other applicable pay practices. Vaccination against influenza required as a condition of employment.
