The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Security Officer position for the 3pm-11pm shift. This position supports the safety and security of the Agency's Office and Warehouse Complex by monitoring facility access, conducting patrols, responding to safety and security concerns, and assisting employees, visitors, and customers. Security Officers serve as a visible security presence while helping maintain a safe, secure, and customer-focused environment. This position is subject to assignment on any shift.
Duties include conducting interior and exterior walking patrols of the complex in accordance with established policies and procedures; inspecting security, fire, HVAC, and electrical systems; monitoring access control, surveillance, and fire alarm systems; responding to security incidents, alarms, emergencies, and other critical events; notifying appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed; and preparing and submitting incident reports and shift activity logs in a timely manner.
The Security Officer also serves as the agency's first point of contact for employees, visitors, vendors, and customers, providing professional customer service in person and by telephone.
Virginia ABC employees are covered under the Commonwealth’s benefits package and VRS. However, Authority employees are exempt from the Virginia Personnel Act and the Virginia Public Procurement Act
