About the Position

Excelsior Defense is seeking professional, reliable, and customer-focused Unarmed Security Officers to join our team in Winchester, Virginia. We are hiring for multiple positions to support a 24‑hour, 7‑day‑per‑week security operation and are looking for candidates who can maintain a strong security presence while providing exceptional service to our client.

Shift Availability

Day, Evening, Overnight & Weekend shifts are available. Positions include Full‑Time and Part‑Time opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of assigned facilities and grounds.
• Monitor property access points and verify authorized personnel and visitors.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and client requests.
• Complete Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Enforce site policies and procedures in a professional and respectful manner.
• Maintain situational awareness and remain alert throughout the assigned shift.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, visitors, and fellow security personnel.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional security presence.

Lead Officer Opportunity

We are also accepting applications for Lead Officers with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security experience.
• Military, law enforcement, corrections, or public safety experience.
• Experience in customer service, hospitality, or access control environments.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Minimum Requirements

• Active Virginia DCJS Unarmed Security Officer Registration required at the time of application.
• Compliance agent license preferred for Lead officer positions.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background screening and drug test.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
