Job Summary

We are seeking a professional, VA DCJS licensed, Security Officer to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to ensure a safe and secure environment. You will protect assigned premises, assets, staff, and the general public; deter any illegal or inappropriate activity, respond to emergencies and summon proper authorities as required. The ideal candidate has experience with public safety and security and operates with a high degree of integrity at all times.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the premises and maintain a high level of visibility
• Monitor entrances and exits to ensure authorized personnel, guests, and patrons access the facility per facility policy
• Remove trespassers when necessary
• Respond to inquiries from general public
• Respond to reports of suspicious activity
• Create reports for daily activities and any security incidents

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Security Guard or in a similar position is preferred
• Valid VA Department of Criminal Justice armed security registration
• High school diploma/GED
• Strong understanding of public safety and security procedures
• Strong written communication skills and report writing ability
