Responsibilities

• Manage entry-point operations, monitoring people and vehicles entering and leaving the property
• Confirm the identity and authorization of residents, visitors, contractors, vendors, and guests before granting access
• Stay aware of activity around designated entrances and surrounding areas
• Conduct scheduled patrols to identify unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, or safety issues
• Respond promptly to resident inquiries, reported concerns, and incidents with a calm, professional approach
• Notify the appropriate supervisor or emergency personnel when additional assistance is needed
• Apply access procedures consistently and communicate entry instructions clearly
• Maintain a visible, professional presence with residents and visitors
• Record daily activities, access concerns, and unusual occurrences in required logs
• Prepare complete, accurate incident reports
• Share relevant updates with supervisors to support continuity between shifts
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Tuesday – Thursday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Requirements

• Current Virginia DCJS unarmed security officer registration
• At least 18 years of age (required for Virginia DCJS registration)
