Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (averages 40 hours per week)

Position Summary

Dunbar is seeking a dependable, attentive Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for residents, authorized visitors, and property personnel in Bethesda, MD. This role protects the property through routine patrols, access monitoring, observation of building activity, and timely reporting of security concerns.

We’re looking for someone who takes responsibility seriously, communicates respectfully, and stays focused throughout the shift while following established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to identify unusual activity, hazards, and security concerns
• Monitor surveillance equipment and observe activity throughout assigned areas
• Inspect buildings, entrances, exits, and access points to help prevent unauthorized entry
• Verify authorization and follow procedures when allowing residents and visitors to enter
• Report suspicious behavior, property damage, policy violations, and other irregularities to the appropriate personnel
• Activate alarms or request assistance when necessary, following emergency procedures
• Communicate property rules professionally and address trespassing concerns according to site procedures and applicable law
• Prepare detailed reports on patrols, observations, incidents, and surveillance findings
• Gather witness information and obtain signatures when required for incident documentation
• Monitor building conditions and report concerns with equipment, access controls, or other property systems
• Keep supervisors and property management informed about incidents or conditions needing attention
• Perform other related duties as assigned
