Job summary

Securitas, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Cedar Rapids, IA to help maintain a safe environment for clients. The role includes access control, patrols, and rapid response to incidents, with a focus on customer service and professionalism.

Position offers flexible PT shifts (potential FT or flex) and a wage range of $18.00–$19.47 per hour. Candidates must be able to work 12-hour shifts, 7AM to 7PM, and pass required screenings.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Excellent customer service and ability to de-escalate situations.
• Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
• Must pass pre-employment screening including drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment via access control and patrols.
• Identify and report safety issues or hazardous conditions.
• Greet clients and visitors and provide information as needed.
• Ensure post orders are followed and rounds are completed on schedule.
• Utilize provided technology devices during shifts.

Primary Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Wage Range:$18.00-$19.47/HR

12 Hour Shifts: 7AM - 7PM

TheSecurity Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order whileenforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect:

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.


• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.


• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.


• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.


• Provide customer service and information to theclient’s employees and guests.

• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Basic Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older.


• High School Diploma or GED required.


• Above average computer / technology skills needed.


• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.


• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.


• Must be able to work independently.


• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.


• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.


• Must have a professional demeanor.


• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
