Job summary

Hall Cabot Properties is seeking a Security Officer (Unarmed) for a commercial office building in Lowell, MA. Shifts run Fri–Tue, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, with overtime as needed. You will patrol, monitor cameras and alarms, and oversee tenant suites, common areas, and parking facilities.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, professional, and able to interact courteously with tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff. Uniforms and training are provided, with benefits starting at hire.

Qualifications

• Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a federal non-DOT drug screening and background check prior to employment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Saturday 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Sunday 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Monday 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Tuesday 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Overtime is available for additional shift coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Security Officer for a commercial office building in Lowell, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting scheduled foot patrols throughout the property, monitoring security cameras and alarm systems, and maintaining oversight of tenant suites, common areas, and parking facilities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and patience when interacting with tenants, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees. Key responsibilities include providing assistance and information to individuals on-site, supporting contractors as needed, and coordinating closely with building management to address security and operational concerns.

This position requires a strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to safety and security, and a commitment to enforcing property rules, including monitoring and preventing unauthorized access and trespassing on private property.

Job Duties

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with tenants, visitors, contractors, and management.
• Complete scheduled foot patrols of the property in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, tenant suites, common areas, and parking facilities.
• Provide assistance and direction to contractors, tenants, visitors, and customers as needed.
• Utilize computer systems and security-related software; basic computer proficiency is preferred.
• Report safety, security, or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

• Security, military, or law enforcement background is preferred.
• Must have High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must successfully pass a federal non-DOT drug screening, including testing for marijuana, as well as a comprehensive background check prior to employment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must demonstrate reliability, punctuality, accountability, and a professional demeanor at all times.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with tenants, visitors, contractors, and colleagues
