Job summary

HHM Hotels is seeking a Security Officer in Fort Lauderdale, FL to protect guests and staff and maintain a safe hotel environment. You will patrol designated areas, respond to disturbances, and prepare clear incident reports while upholding confidentiality and guest privacy.

The role offers a growth path toward Security Supervisor/Manager and Director of Security, with emphasis on safety, guest satisfaction, and sustainability under HHM’s EarthView program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Prior security experience is desirable.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated hotel areas to deter and respond to incidents.
• Respond to disturbances and emergency situations promptly and report outcomes.
• Maintain daily activity logs and incident reports for management.
• Escort guests to their rooms and assist with entry according to hotel standards.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding guest and employee incidents.
• Follow safety, MSDS, and OSHA guidelines; monitor security cameras as applicable.

Security Supervisor/Manager – Director of Security

Your Focus

• Patrol designated hotel areas.
• Respond to disturbances and emergency situations.
• Maintain a daily activity log.
• Maintain confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents.
• Prepare incident reports and other reports and communicate all related information to hotel management.
• Access secured areas for authorized personnel.
• Complete incident/accident reports in a clear and concise manner.
• Escort guests to their rooms or assist guest’s w/entry into their rooms according to hotel standards.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Monitor TV cameras, if applicable.
• Perform bell person tasks and assist guests with luggage.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background and Skills

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Prior security experience is desirable.
• CPR/First Aid preferred.
