Security Officer# Security Officer20813 Birchwood Spur Road - Chugiak, AK 99567## OverviewSalary Range$21.00 - $25.00 Hourly## DescriptionThe Security Officer will be responsible for the safety and security of our guests, protecting assets of the casino and supporting the Security Department.## QualificationsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:* Assist with activities regarding guest and team member safety, gaming regulations and company policies and procedures.* Help enforce local, state, and federal regulations and aid when needed.* Write incident reports, ensuring accurate handling of information according to company standards.* Perform guest identification checks to ensure proper age of guests playing or drinking at the casino.* Provide comfort and initiate medical response to ill or injured persons within company guidelines.* Stay informed of the company’s safety and emergency action procedures.* Dispatch security personnel and/or outside emergency services as required.* Complete all Security department paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.* Immediately report unsafe conditions and employee or guest accidents to a supervisor or Security.* Assist guest and team members with their lost and found items.* Be able to understand and interpret rules and procedures.* Conduct investigations, interviews and other duties as required throughout the casino environment.* Provide daily protection of company assets.* Ability to think creatively and work with supervisors, peers, and other subordinates on a team approach to solve problems which cross departmental boundaries.* Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.* General cleaning duties of the casino as assigned to include preopening, closing and general maintenance throughout the operating hours.* Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)* High School Diploma and/or GED required.* Previous security experience preferredAdditional Requirements* Must be 21 years of age or older.* Any operation of a motorized company vehicle(s) or equipment will require a DMV printout and will be requested at the time of submission of application for company insurance purposes.* Must be willing and able to engage in physical activity on all levels up to and including physical confrontation.* The ability to remain calm during adverse situations.* Work outdoors during inclement weather conditions including but not limited to, shoveling snow, and withstanding hot and or cold conditions.* Ability to use personal protective equipment.* Ability to deal with inebriated customers in a courteous manner.* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtimeRequired Work Cards* Successful Licensing with Eklutna Tribal Gaming CommissionMachinery, Work Equipment, Programs, Software, Hardware Used* Personal Computer including Microsoft Office and IGT Falcon software* Document scanner and printer* Various hardware/software used in the slot machine environment It is the policy of Native Village of Eklutna/Chin’an Gaming Hall to ensure equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees based on individual’s qualifications regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, handicap, or national origin.
