In this role, you will assist in overseeing and coordinating food and beverage operations within Chin’an Gaming Hall, including daily operations, staffing, budgeting, guest service, menu development, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. The Assistant Manager will support the overall success of the Food & Beverage department by ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high service standards, developing staff, and ensuring compliance with applicable health, safety, alcohol service, and gaming regulations.The ideal candidate is passionate about food and beverages, demonstrates strong leadership and decision-making skills, and has a proven track record of managing high-performing teams in fast-paced, high-end hospitality environments. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking a leadership role in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager and working collaboratively with other departments to provide exceptional guest experience.## Qualifications**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:**Operational Leadership*** Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in overseeing daily operations of all casino food and beverage outlets, including the food truck, bars, and concession stand.* Assume operational leadership of the Food & Beverage department in the Manager's absence.* Assist in developing and implementing departmental goals, procedures, service standards, and operational efficiencies.* Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food, beverages, and guest service.* Monitor casino floor food and beverage service and coordinate with other departments to maximize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.* Assist with managing departmental budgets, expenses, labor costs, and operational targets.* Assist with menu pricing, promotions, and product offerings as directed.* Monitor inventory levels, ordering, receiving, storage, and product controls to minimize waste and ensure appropriate product availability.* Identify operational issues and implement or recommend solutions to improve efficiency, service, and profitability.* Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and gaming regulations.**Staff Management*** Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising Food & Beverage staff.* Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback to employees.* Assist with performance evaluations, employee development, and corrective action when necessary.* Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability, excellence, and guest engagement.* Assist in developing staffing plans and schedules based on business levels, special events, and operational needs.* Conduct and/or participate in regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, operational updates, policy changes, and departmental goals.* Promote teamwork, professionalism, and effective communication among Food & Beverage employees.* Ensure employees are properly trained in service standards, food safety, responsible alcohol service, and applicable gaming regulations.**Guest Experience & Service Standards*** Implement, maintain, and enforce service standards that reflect a premium casino hospitality experience.* Monitor guest satisfaction and address guest concerns, complaints, and service issues promptly and professionally.* Empower and coach employees to provide exceptional service and resolve routine guest concerns appropriately.* Ensure all Food & Beverage staff adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines and applicable laws.* Maintain composure, professionalism, and confidentiality when handling sensitive guest or employee situations.* Collaborate with Marketing, Events, Gaming, Security, and other departments to support special events, promotions, tournaments, VIP services, and other casino activities.* Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with VIP guests and key customers.**Financial & Inventory Management*** Assist in monitoring Food & Beverage revenues, expenses, labor costs, and departmental performance.* Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and expense management.* Monitor inventory levels and assist with purchasing and ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels.* Ensure proper receiving, storage, rotation, and handling of food, beverage, and operational supplies.* Monitor product usage, waste, spoilage, and portion control and recommend corrective actions as necessary.* Assist with cash handling, point-of-sale procedures, daily reconciliations, and financial controls.* Review operational reports and communicate significant variances or concerns to the Food & Beverage Manager.**Compliance & Safety*** Ensure adherence to Eklutna Tribal Gaming regulations, alcohol service laws, health and safety requirements, and internal policies and procedures.* Monitor food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and Eklutna Health Department regulations.* Ensure employees maintain required certifications, licenses, and work cards.* Assist with audits, inspections, incident reports, investigations, and corrective actions as needed.* Ensure responsible alcohol service practices are consistently followed.* Work closely with Security and Gaming personnel when addressing incidents involving guests, employees, alcohol service, or gaming operations.* Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by company, regulatory, and departmental policies.* Perform other duties as assigned.**Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)*** High School Diploma and/or GED required; additional hospitality or business education preferred.* **3–5 years of progressive experience in food and beverage operations, including supervisory or management experience.*** Casino, gaming, resort, restaurant, bar, or high-volume hospitality management experience preferred.* Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.* Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team.* Knowledge of food safety guidelines, responsible alcohol service requirements, and gaming industry standards.* Working knowledge of budgeting, labor management, inventory control, and cost management.* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.* Ability to analyze operational information and make sound decisions.* Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with management and other departments.* Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, holidays, and variable overtime.**Additional Requirements*** Must be 21 years of age or older.* Ability to acquire TAPS and ServSafe prior to employment.* High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills* Ability to inspire, coach, and manage a diverse team* Respond to common inquiries and/or complaints from guests.* Ability to deal with inebriated customers in a courteous and professional manner.* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.**Required Work Cards*** Successful Licensing with Eklutna Tribal Gaming Commission**Machinery, Work Equipment, Programs, Software, Hardware Used*** Point of Sale System* Document scanner and printerIt is the policy of Native Village of Eklutna/Chin’an Gaming Hall to ensure equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees based on individual’s qualifications regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, handicap, or national origin.
