Job summary

Per Mar Security Services seeks hardworking loss prevention officers to protect retail environments in Des Moines. You will patrol floors, identify shoplifting, and use CCTV to deter incidents while maintaining professional conduct.

Responsibilities include accurate report writing, coordinating with local police, and, when required, providing courtroom testimony. A HS diploma or equivalent is required; background checks and drug screening apply.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
• Previous loss prevention or law enforcement experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and apprehend shoplifters through floor patrol and CCTV.
• Prepare clear, legible reports.
• Interact with local law enforcement as needed.

Job Description

• Identify and Apprehend Shoplifters through floor patrol and the use of Closed Circuit TV Cameras
• Report Writing
• Interacting with local Law Enforcement as needed
• Provide Courtroom Testimony as required

Job Requirement

• Pre-Employment Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3-4 hours at a time
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately through verbal and written means
• Ability to write legible, accurate and easily understood reports
• Must be assertive, yet controlled in dealing with confrontation
• Must be trustworthy and able to work under little or no direct supervision
• Attendance for scheduled shifts. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated
• Previous Loss Prevention or Law Enforcement experience is a plus but not a requirement
• Criminal Justice or related studies a plus
• High School diploma or equivalent (minimum)
