Job summary

Per Mar Security Services is seeking a full-time Security / Loss Prevention Officer in Minnesota. Responsibilities include patrolling to identify shoplifters, documenting incidents, and coordinating with law enforcement as needed.

The role requires English proficiency, reliable transportation, and the ability to work 1st/2nd shifts and weekends. Prior loss prevention or law enforcement experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have reliable reading/writing in English
• Pre-employment background check and drug screening required
• Able to sit/stand/walk for 3–4 hours
• Must be trustworthy and able to work with minimal supervision
• Attendance for scheduled shifts is required

Responsibilities

• Write clear, legible reports.

Job Skills / Requirements

Immediate Opening for a Full-Time Loss Prevention Officer

• Identify and Apprehend Shoplifters through floor patrol and the use of Closed Circuit TV Cameras
• Report Writing
• Interacting with local Law Enforcement as needed
• Provide Courtroom Testimony as required

Job Requirement:

• Pre-Employment Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3-4 hours at a time
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately through verbal and written means
• Ability to write legible, accurate and easily understood reports
• Must be assertive, yet controlled in dealing with confrontation
• Must be trustworthy and able to work under little or no direct supervision
• Attendance for scheduled shifts. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated
• Previous Loss Prevention or Law Enforcement experience is a plus but not a requirement
• Criminal Justice or related studies a plus
• High School diploma or equivalent (minimum)
