Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with our commercial customers in Tempe, AZ. You will install and program integrated security fire and security systems, reading blueprints and wiring diagrams, and ensuring safe, reliable operations.

You may dismantle or reconstruct equipment, coordinate with public safety and teams on larger projects, and coach newer installers. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 2+ years electrical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school training is a plus.
• 2+ years electrical/electronic equipment experience with mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Must be able to operate hand and power tools and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission security systems on customer sites.
• Dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required.
• Coordinate installations with authorities and notify emergency contacts as needed.
• Mentor less experienced installers on larger projects.
• Test system operation and ensure proper signaling and service.

The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary. **How you will do it*** Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.* Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.* Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.* Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.* Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.* Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.* Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.* Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.* May manage installation teams on larger projects.* Coach and mentor less experienced installers.**What we look for*****Required**** A high school diploma or GED* Some technical school training is a plus.* 2+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.* Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.* Ability to operate hand and power tools.* Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.* Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23-31 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
