Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building systems, is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with commercial customers, set up and program integrated security systems, and dismantle or reconstruct equipment as required. You will follow schematics, read blueprints, and ensure safe, clean installations while maintaining excellent customer service.

Hiring hourly with a competitive benefits package, the role may involve coordinating with local authorities and mentoring junior installers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 6+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience with mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install and program Integrated Security fire and security systems onsite for commercial customers.
• Dismantle and reconstruct equipment when necessary.
• Install appropriate devices and follow customer or Tyco Integrated Security instructions.
• Work safely to avoid injuries and damage, and clean up debris.
• Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and notify emergencies.
• May lead installation teams on larger projects and mentor less experienced installers.

What you will do

• The Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems.
• The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it

• Installs appropriate devices.
• Dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
• Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26-$34 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
