Job summary

Johnson Controls in Arkansas is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with commercial customers to set up and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment when necessary.

You will read blueprints, follow wiring diagrams, safely use hand and power tools, and coordinate with police and fire departments. Depending on project scope, you may lead installation teams and mentor junior installers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and manuals.
• Able to operate hand and power tools.
• Able to operate fleet vehicle safely at all times.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Licenses as required by National, State and Local codes.

Responsibilities

• Install devices; dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by customer.
• Work safely and clean up installation debris.
• Coordinate with police/fire departments; handle records for emergency notifications.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Test system operation and report to the signal-receiving center.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

What You Will Do

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How You Will Do It

• Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
• Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

Required

What we look for

• Able to obtain and obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 3-5 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25-38 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
