Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work on-site with our commercial clients to install and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. You may dismantle and rebuild equipment as needed and coordinate with emergency services.

You will read blueprints, follow wiring diagrams, test systems, and may lead larger projects while coaching junior installers. A strong emphasis is placed on safety and customer service in daily field operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 6+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle safely.
• ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required by the customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Work safely to avoid injuries and keep installation area clean.
• Contact customers before installation to confirm schedule.
• Prepare estimates following supervisor instructions.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Test system operation and relay signals to the monitoring center.
• Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as needed.
• Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and manage emergency notifications.
• May lead installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

What you will do

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it

• Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
• Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28-$39 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
