Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard Screening Specialist in Chester, VA to monitor access, screen visitors and deliveries, and maintain a secure, welcoming environment across a technology-focused site.

As a full-time Screener, you will perform entry point checks, respond to incidents, and coordinate with site leadership. Prior licensing and CPR/First Aid are preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Guard Card or applicable license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out site-specific security procedures and screening.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and deliveries; verify authorization, review IDs, and direct individuals accordingly.
• Monitor access points and screening equipment; escalate unauthorized access and suspicious activity to site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations following reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of entry areas and lobby spaces, documenting observations and reports.

Job Description

As a Security Guard Screening Specialist in Chester, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener in a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring access points, screening visitors and materials, and communicating professionally with employees and guests. You will remain visible to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver outstanding service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-screening protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and deliveries in accordance with established procedures; verify authorization, review identification, and direct individuals to appropriate entry points or contacts.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and screening equipment, escalating unauthorized access attempts, prohibited items, suspicious activity, and policy concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry areas, lobby spaces, and the surrounding business perimeter, while documenting observations and completing required reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card or applicable license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
