Allied Universal in Chester, VA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to screen visitors, monitor access points, and report security concerns, helping maintain a welcoming, controlled environment at a technology and media location with strong communication. The position offers a fixed schedule: Fri 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM, Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Sun 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM, and pays $21.00 per hour.

• Ability to follow site-specific policies and emergency procedures.
• Background checks and drug screening as required.
• Guard card and CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel at a technology and media location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors entering the location by verifying identification, reviewing access credentials, and following visitor management procedures.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct package, bag, or personnel screening in accordance with site-specific policies and applicable procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly communicate observations to site leadership and/or appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry points, screening areas, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
