Job summary

Allied Universal in Chester, VA is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Screening Operations to protect clients across Tech/Media/Telecom sectors. You will monitor access points, screen visitors and personnel, and report security concerns.

This role requires clear communication, visible presence, and a customer-focused approach to deter incidents and maintain a welcoming environment. Shift schedule includes DayTime 2:00 PM–10:00 PM and weekend coverage as described in the posting.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be performed as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access screening procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals and authorized items entering the location using established procedures and screening equipment.
• Verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and access permissions before entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized access.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
