Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Guard in Reston, VA. You will provide customer service, perform vehicle and foot patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents following site protocols.

A valid driver’s license and 6 months of security experience are required. This role offers flexible scheduling with day and evening shifts and the opportunity to earn, learn, and grow within a leading security company.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• A background check will be conducted as part of employment.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Monitor access activity and assist with visitor and contractor entry procedures in accordance with site requirements.
• Document patrol observations, incidents, and security-related concerns accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

What You’ll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
