Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Guard (Unarmed) at a Honolulu campus. You will provide a visible security presence, assist students and staff, and respond to incidents following campus procedures.

Build a flexible schedule through the Claim a Shift platform and contribute to a safe campus environment. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years old for unarmed posts, and successful background checks.

Qualifications

• State/county/city-issued security license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while enforcing security procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and follow campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, walkways, parking areas and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions or policy violations through official channels.
• Maintain accurate logs and incident reports and assist individuals as needed.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, residence areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations through required communication channels and documentation.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports while providing professional directions and assistance to individuals throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
