Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Fairfax, VA. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts via the scheduling platform, increasing earnings and exposure across multiple sites.

The position requires at least 2 years of security experience and an armed guard card/license. CPR/First Aid is a plus; applicants may be subject to background checks and a drug screen as required by law.

Qualifications

• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screening as per law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or clients while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct armed patrols throughout the healthcare location, including interiors, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; report unusual conditions and document incidents.
• Maintain armed post qualifications and handle authorized equipment as per laws and site requirements.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Deployment in Fairfax, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate

$21.74 / Hour

DayTime Wed 07:30 PM - 11:30 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or clients while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the healthcare location, including building interiors, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical‑related emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report unusual conditions, and document incidents according to site procedures.
• Maintain required armed post qualifications and handle authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, Allied Universal policies, and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 2 years of security‑related experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or batons is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
