Allied Universal in San Jose, CA is seeking an Unarmed Patrol Security Guard to protect residents and property. You will perform routine patrols, monitor entrances, report incidents, and provide courteous service to residents and staff.

This full-time role offers $22.95 per hour, with a schedule including multiple shifts. A high school diploma, 2+ years of security experience, and a guard card/licensing are preferred; background checks and a drug screen will be conducted.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by following site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and access points; report unusual conditions or violations.
• Respond to incidents and resident concerns calmly and professionally; notify appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate activity reports and communicate with site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Pay Rate: $22.95 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Mon: 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Fri: 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM
Sat: 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM
Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and property staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and access points; observe visitor and vendor activity; and report unusual conditions or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and maintain communication with site management and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related incidents and observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
