Job summary

Allied Universal in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Security Officer at full-time, unarmed, to patrol healthcare facilities and protect patients, staff and visitors. You will monitor access, respond to alarms, complete incident reports, and maintain a professional presence to deter security incidents.

Training and growth opportunities are provided in a collaborative, service‑oriented environment. Pay rate is $16.05 per hour with comprehensive benefits; shifts include days and overnights as listed.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical-related emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized access, and security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with directions and maintaining a professional presence.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation, communicating relevant observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
