Armorous is seeking an overnight Security Officer for a transitional housing shelter in Sebastopol, CA. The role protects residents, staff, and visitors, performing patrols, access control, bed checks, and incident reporting to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Ideal candidates have BSIS Guard Card, 40-hour training with Powers to Arrest, graveyard shift experience, and strong customer service. The position offers full-time hours, nightly shifts, and benefits.

Competenze

• Valid BSIS Guard Card required.
• Completion of 40 hours of BSIS training, including Powers to Arrest, with refresher courses up to date and continuing education courses.
• Experience working graveyard shifts.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional, respectful demeanor.
• Ability to stay alert and proactive in high pressure situations.
• Experience with de escalation or working with vulnerable populations is a big plus.

Mansioni

About the Role

We're hiring an overnight Security Officer for a transitional housing shelter in Sebastopol. This site serves individuals who are moving from homelessness into stable housing. You'll help keep the building safe and secure for residents, staff, and visitors, and work alongside site staff to create an environment that feels safe, supportive, and welcoming.

The right person for this role leads with patience and respect, stays calm under pressure, and treats every resident with dignity.

Schedule

Monday: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

Tuesday: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

Wednesday: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

Must be available for all three overnight shifts, including holidays that fall on scheduled shift days.

Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12 hour shift
• Ability to complete hourly patrols of indoor and outdoor areas, including stairs
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
