Job summary

Armorous is seeking a Security Officer for a large corporate property in Santa Clara. You will safeguard facilities, deter crime, and ensure safety across office and residential areas. The role demands high vigilance, strong decision-making, and clear communication to handle incidents.

This is a union site with hourly patrols and logs to complete. Shifts run Saturday and Sunday 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM, totaling 16 hours per week, with potential for additional shifts.

Qualifications

• BSIS Guard Card required.
• 8-Hour Initial Training Certificate (BSIS)
• 32-Hour continuing education certificates (BSIS)
• Strong customer service skills with professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain alert and proactive in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols to monitor and secure designated locations.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter crime and ensure public safety.
• Respond quickly to incidents and provide support in emergencies.
• Document daily activity, incidents, and observations in reports.
• Communicate security updates and concerns with supervisors and team.

Position/Titles:

• Security Officer for Large Corporate Property

Job Description:

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding properties, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring the safety of businesses, construction sites, and residential communities, etc. Your role requires vigilance, strong decision-making, and excellent communication skills to handle security incidents effectively. This site may experience occasional interaction with unhoused individuals who pass through or attempt to use facility amenities. Officers responsible for completing hourly tours and hourly activity logs. It's a large property, which requires a lot of walking. Officers complete hourly patrol tours and hourly activity logs, covering the full site each hour. This is a union site, so officers must follow all union requirements.

Shifts:

Saturday - 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Sunday - 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM
**16 Hrs Per Week*
+ Opportunity for additional shifts

Compensation:

$21.00 per hour

Security Guard Responsibilities:

Security Guard Qualifications:

• Valid BSIS Guard Card (required).
• Current with BSIS Compliance
  • i.e: 8-Hour Initial Training Certificate
  • 32-hour continuing education certificates .
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.
