Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard Full Time in Niles, IL to protect people and property at a logistics and distribution site. As an unarmed patrol officer, you will monitor entrances, patrol loading areas, and provide courteous service to employees and visitors while upholding site policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation in accordance with laws.
• Background history considerations per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and drivers at a logistics site by following security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, building entrances, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and observe movement of people and vehicles entering/leaving the facility.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations and notify site contacts or emergency services.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and unusual conditions in reports and communicate information to supervision.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or delivery drivers at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, building entrances, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor access points and observe the movement of people and vehicles entering and leaving the facility in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and unusual conditions in required reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
