Job summary

Management & Training Corporation is seeking a Security Officer for the San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial Beach, CA. This full-time role includes patrolling grounds, front-desk operations, badge control, and ensuring the safety of staff, students, and visitors.

You will monitor ID compliance, respond to incidents, assist with transfers, and support safety programs while upholding company policies and providing quality service to the local youth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of security experience
• Ability to lift 50-70 lbs and carry items as required
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Patrolling center grounds and managing front desks for guests sign-in and badge distribution.
• Monitor that staff and students wear ID badges and ensure safety of all on site.
• Control, surveillance, identification, monitoring, investigation, and reporting of center properties and people.
• Secure building and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical equipment, and emergency gear and log actions.
• Perform parking and traffic control duties and assist visitors and staff as needed.
• Answer calls, greet visitors, and support supervisors with check-in/check-out processes.
• Assist in transporting ill or injured students and respond to alarms and safety incidents.
• Promote and adhere to safety practices throughout the facility.

Schedule – Full Time, 8hr shifts, days vary with occasional overtime.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for patrolling center grounds, manages front desks for guests sign-in and temporary badges distribution, monitors that all staff and students wear ID badges, and ensures the safety of staff, students, and visitors. Control, surveillance, identification, monitoring, investigation, and reporting of all matters pertaining to center property, facilities, students, staff, and visitors.

Essential functions:

1. Secure building and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment’ maintain log of findings and corrective action taken
2. Perform parking and traffic control duties
3. Answer telephone calls and greet and assist visitors.
4. Assist supervisors and manager assuring accountability of students check-in and out according to established policies and procedures.
5. Assist in transporting ill or injured students as required.
6. Respond to fire alarms, take necessary steps to report fires, assist in suppressing fires and resent fire alarm equipment
7. Promote, support, and adhere to safety practices throughout the facility.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year security experience.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50-70 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
