Job summary

Management & Training Corporation in Hawaii is seeking a part-time security officer at the Hawaii Job Corps Center in Waimanalo. You will patrol grounds, manage the front desk, and distribute temporary badges while ensuring ID compliance for staff, students, and visitors.

Responsibilities include responding to incidents, checking in/out students, transporting ill individuals as needed, and upholding rigorous safety standards throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year security experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 50–70 lbs as needed.
• State Security Guard Certification preferred; obtain within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license in state of employment with good driving record.

• Patrol center grounds and monitor safety of staff, students, and visitors.
• Manage front desk for guest sign-in and temporary badge distribution; ensure ID badges are worn.
• Answer calls, greet visitors, and assist as appropriate.
• Support supervisors with student check-in/check-out per policies.
• Assist in transporting ill or injured students when required.
• Promote and adhere to safety practices across the facility.

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for patrolling center grounds, manages front desks for guests sign-in and temporary badges distribution, monitors that all staff and students wear ID badges, and ensures the safety of staff, students, and visitors. Control, surveillance, identification, monitoring, investigation, and reporting of all matters pertaining to center property, facilities, students, staff, and visitors.

Essential Functions

• Answer telephone calls and greet and assist visitors.
• Assist supervisors and manager assuring accountability of students check-in and out according to established policies and procedures.
• Assist in transporting ill or injured students as required.
• Promote, support, and adhere to safety practices throughout the facility.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One (1) year security experience.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50-70 lbs.
• State Security Guard Certification preferred. Must be able to obtain Guard Certification within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of work with an acceptable driving record required.
